Intel Corporation, the US giant computer technology and manufacturing company, few days after have revealed plans to invest $500 Million to upgrade its research and development plant in Ireland, announced that about $2.7 billion will be invested by 2013 to update its computer chip plant in Israel for the production of 22 nanometer chips. The $2.7 billion investment includes a $210 million grant by the Israeli government.
The upgrade of the plant will be completed within 2011, with the 22nm chip production to start on December of this year. Intel Corp., which employs about 7,000 people in Israel, plans to hire additional 1,000 people in 2011.
