11,000 new jobs have been created in Ireland in 2010, through foreign direct investments (FDIs) of multinational companies supported by IDA Ireland, the Irish Government’s inward investment promotion agency. The jobs created by foreign investments were more than double than in 2009. With 126 new investments, up 20% on the 2009 figure, this has resulted to be the best period for FDI in four years.9,500 jobs were lost in the last year, but the expectations for 2011 remains high since many international big firms like Facebook, Google and HP are expanding their operations and hiring new employees in Ireland.
